Ahtanga Yoga Teacher Training
150 hr Individualised Learning

"The experience I had at Anneriek‘s YTT was completely life changing. The intimate group setting really allowed the space for sharing and growth. The course structure is detailed and provides a good understanding of yoga beyond asanas. I know that I have a great foundation to begin teaching."
(Tara)
This training is for yoga teachers with at least a 200hr certification who LOVE the practice and want to go deeper, whether that's to teach Ashtanga or to transform your own practice of the Primary Series.
You don't need to be the bendiest person in the room. The best teachers are not necessarily the most flexible ones. They're the ones who have met their own edges with patience and honesty. You have your own unique abilities and experience to share, and that is what will make you a brilliant Ashtanga teacher. I am committed to nurturing and developing this!
🌱 Your path to personal growth
This training isn't only about learning the postures. Practised with devotion, Ashtanga becomes a mirror, showing you how you meet effort, frustration, surrender and joy. Through the Yoga Sutras, the principles of The Heart of Yoga, meditation and a steady personal practice, you'll discover a deeper, fuller version of yourself, on and off the mat.
💼 Teaching mastery
Of course, you'll gain a thorough understanding of the Primary Series: the vinyasa count, the logic of the sequence, functional anatomy, alignment and hands-on adjustments. But beyond technique, you'll develop the skills and confidence to lead a class, hold a Mysore room, and guide each student at their own pace. You will be personally mentored every step of the way.
✨ What sets this training apart?
• Personalised guidance: a small group, so you receive real attention and feedback, the way Ashtanga has always been taught, one student at a time.
• Lineage and experience: over 25 years of Ashtanga practice, a direct connection to the Mysore tradition through my teacher Graeme Northfield, and many years of training teachers. I share it all generously and passionately.
• Time to integrate: nine weekends spread over nine months, so the practice has time to settle into your body. Ashtanga can't be crammed.
• A welcoming community: small-group learning in my beautiful studio in Cattai, with lunches shared together, creating a safe, inclusive space where connections and friendships flourish.
• Tradition with heart: the traditional method, taught through the lens of The Heart of Yoga: rigorous, practical, and always in service of the person on the mat.
Ashtanga Primary Series 150hr Teacher Training
The traditional practice, taught with heart. For yoga teachers ready to go deeper.
Nine weekends, June 2027 to March 2028.
THE PRACTICE
This training is an immersion in the Ashtanga Primary Series, practised and taught the traditional way.
Primary is known as Yoga Chikitsa, yoga therapy. It is the foundation of the whole Ashtanga system: sun salutations, the standing sequence, the seated postures and the finishing sequence, all linked by breath and movement. It cleanses and realigns the body, builds heat, strength and steadiness, and asks you to come back to the mat again and again. Practise it long enough and it starts working on far more than your body.
We stay true to the method as it was passed down from Mysore. That means the Sanskrit vinyasa count, tristhana (breath, posture and gaze), bandhas, and the Mysore method, where postures are given one at a time, when the student is ready. The sequence stays intact. What changes is how deeply you understand it, and how skilfully you can share it.
THE GIFT OF SIMPLICITY
What I love most about this practice is its simplicity. The same sequence. The same count. Breath, posture, gaze. Day after day, you return to the mat and meet whatever is there.
In a world that is endlessly multidimensional, always scrolling, always performing, always reaching for the next new thing, I feel we're craving exactly this. Something steady. Something that doesn't change to keep us entertained. A practice that asks us to stop looking outward and come home to ourselves.
That's the quiet magic of Ashtanga. When the form stays the same, you get to see yourself change.

ABOUT YOUR TRAINER
Anneriek Favelle has been practising Ashtanga for over 25 years and teaching since 2000.
Her Ashtanga roots run deep. She completed a 3-year, 1,000+ hour Ashtanga Vinyasa apprenticeship (2000–2003) with Angelika Knoerzer at North Sydney Yoga, and studied with her teacher Graeme Northfield, one of the few students worldwide certified directly by the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. She has also trained with Dena Kingsberg, among many other senior teachers.
A Level 3 Senior Teacher with Yoga Australia and a registered teacher with Yoga Alliance, Anneriek has more than 10,000 hours of teaching experience and has been designing and leading teacher trainings since 2016. Her advanced studies include 300+ hours with Mark Stephens, author of Teaching Yoga and Yoga Sequencing.
She brings into the Ashtanga room: a deep respect for tradition, held with warmth, curiosity and care for the whole person on the mat. Ashtanga has shaped how she moves, breathes and teaches, and passing it on is, in her words, a privilege.
"Anneriek is a teacher with so much to offer and share. One of the best teachers and human beings. Abundance of wisdom, knowledge and love." (Hena)

"It’s challenging to put into words… the YTT emersion was such a beautiful experience and a gradual cracking open of my authentic self. From meeting my limiting beliefs as a student, releasing and becoming more aware of my ego, to actually teaching my first class! The connection and awareness I have with myself, the relationship with my body and my practice. It’s been a divine journey and one that needed eight months to unfold. Thank you." (Mel)
