The Joy Of Yoga

Through the movement with your breath in your yoga practice you can learn to feel more at peace within yourself, you can become aware of the thoughts that float through you, continuously, and become less attached to them. With awareness comes acceptance and the possibility for change. 

I am passionate to share my joy for yoga. Sharing knowledge to help create healthy bodies and peaceful minds, to help find a 'lightness' in living. I aim to create a better world in which we can breathe, trust and let go…

My classes are full of encouragement and without judgement. You are inspired to find your own practice, your own edge, and your own joy on the mat. I like to use the yoga practice to help find embodiment, create mindfulness and to learn to let go of attachment to your mental stories.

My Experience

I know that yoga is not just a physical practice but that it is about overcoming your fear and self doubt. About creating space were you feel stuck, about being kind and revealing your heart. That it is about believing in yourself.

With 20 years of experience in many yoga disciplines, I have a unique ability to teach challenging practices in a light hearted and joyful way. I am very passionate about yoga and love to share my knowledge to help create healthy bodies, peaceful minds and awareness in living.

I have been teaching yoga for 20 years, completed far over 1000 hours of teacher training and am certified in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Prana Flow and Yin yoga, I am a Level 3 Senior Registered Teacher with Yoga Australia and RYT500 with Yoga Alliance.

My Teaching
I have studied yoga traditions for over 2 decades and am a Level 3 Senior Yoga Teacher with experience in multiple yoga disciplines, including Prana Flow, Yin, Asthanga, Vinyasa yoga, meditation and Inner Growth coaching. In my teaching I aim to allow you to embody the flow of the yoga practice, connecting to your inner power with fluidity.


I like to offer classes where students are challenged to find strength and self belief. My practice and teaching are filled with energy and joy and I aim to provide an all round practice for both the body, breath and mind. The balance yoga offers in strength and flexibility of both body and mind is truly amazing. 

My yoga practice and teaching is inspired by many people and especially by Shiva Rea ( and Dylan Werner ( Shiva for the beautiful inspired prana vinyasa flows she uses to embody the practice and connect to the feminine aspects of movement and Dylan for his creative sequencing and the power he generates in his classes.

I teach regular classes and workshops at yoga studios in the Hills/Hawkesbury, NSW: Yoga Bare in McGraths Hill ( you can attend these classes also through Zoom) and Kinetica Yoga ( Additionally I teach masterclasses at my own studio and various workshops and retreats.

I feel blessed to be able to spread my yoga passion; sharing knowledge, creating healthy bodies, peaceful minds, sharing the joy and to help find a lightness in living. I love to work in the yoga community, to find like minded people and to work with peers. This community has so much to offer and is so supportive of each other, something that adds a lot of value in todays world…


My Practice
From my 1st yoga class I knew: ‘yoga is me’. The sensation in my body, the flow of my breath and the focus it brought to my busy mind. Yoga felt strangely familiar and totally right. After years of dedication to the beautiful and strong Ashtanga Vinyasa flow I started to embrace other yoga styles, like yoga flow and yin yoga, enjoying different and more gentle styles too. I also explored the Personal Training side of the fitness industry to use aspects of this in yoga.

Over the last 20 years I have developed a strong, consistent yoga practice myself and I aim to be an inspiration on the mat. I just love to practice all aspects of yoga, the asanas, pranayama and meditation. Yoga has definitely changed my life. I have a strong passion for arm balances like crow, forearm balances, and handstands. I just love how they make me feel: light, joyful and strong. Even though I love my yoga flows, I incorporate a Yin Yoga practice at least once a week, I love the intensity and stillness of this practice and it is so good for the recovery of my body and my mind. And I have a solid daily mediation practice.


My yoga journey has taken me by the hand. It has been there for me when leaving my professional career, when moving from the city to the ‘country’, it helped me through my pregnancies and births of my 2 beautiful boys, through recovery from a broken hip (fell off a horse), it keeps me healthy, fit and sane on days when life is tending towards chaos. And most of all it helps me to live my life with awareness and mindfulness.

Off The Mat...


Born in The Netherlands, I have a Bachelors degree in IT Management. In 2000 I moved to Australia for the company I then worked for. Soon I realised that I loved this country and decided to move permanently. I have worked for nearly 20 years as a IT Management consultant, ending up co-owning a company. When there was an opportunity to sell this company, just after the birth of my 2nd son, I decided to move away from the business world and dedicate my life to my family and yoga.

Horse riding and driving has been a passion throughout my life. In 2013 I’ve started a company “The Carriagedriver” importing European horse drawn carriages to the Australian market. In 2017 have sold this company as I felt that my 'real' calling was to teach yoga.

Now I live with my family on a beautiful rural property just outside Sydney. I love our animals; dog, cats, chooks, goats, donkey and horses and all wild animals that visit us:-). I homeschool our 2 boys which is one of the most rewarding things I have even done!
