The Level 2 Yoga Teacher Training is a 12 month (+150 hr) coaching program for yoga teachers who want to deepen their knowledge, increase their confidence level and/or are on their way to either 350 or 500 hr certifications.

This 12 month Coaching Program, for Level 2 Yoga Teacher Training Certification, will increase your skill level and level of confidence as a yoga teacher. You will learn in a personalised environment, in a gradual and more traditional manner. It involves monthly face to face or remote practical learning, one-on-one mentoring, and study assignments, to help you further grow and develop. If you would like to feel more supported, like to learn in a smaller group, and like to find a mentor to help you improve your skill level over a longer period of time, this program might just be what you are looking for.

12 Days Face To Face or Remote attendance

Successful completion of the course will help enable graduates to progress from Yoga Australia Provisional Membership to Level 1 Registered Teacher status, or from Level 1 Registered Teacher status to Level 2 Registered Teacher status. 100% attendance is required.

VIEW PROGRAM CONTENT 

Your commitment:

  • Attendance to 12 days of face to face or remote (Zoom) group learning for theory, feedback, assisting, etc. 

  • Monthly (practical) assignments to complete 

  • Monthly shared practice (face to face or through Zoom) in which you will also teach and/or assist

  • 4 Private sessions with Anneriek (Face to face or Zoom)

  • Regularly attending one of Anneriek’s classes (online or in class)

For Remote learning:

  • You will need a device that connects to Zoom (either a smartphone or laptop), internet connection, the manuals, which you will receive before the start of the course, a pen for making notes. 

  • Each session will be recorded so you will be able to review all the sessions online.

  • For the sessions where you learn about assisting, a willing 'victim' (partner, friend, child) would be very helpful to practice on. 

  • And lastly an open mind and a comfortable place in your home for each session.

Prerequisites:

  • Completed level 1 teacher training (200 hrs)

  • Some prior teaching experience would be beneficial 

  • Regular yoga practice

Attendance Policy

  • 100% attendance is required for certificate to be awarded.

  • Students who miss any of the contact hours may request private tuition at their own cost to make up any missed sessions (costs are $80 hour) or they can sit the missed hours on the next course day for the module.

  • This course is attendance and competency-based, which means there is no pass or fail.

LOCATION

All face to face learning takes place at our beautiful studio in Cattai, NSW. 15 minutes out of Windsor, 50 min out of Sydney CBD. Shared accomodation for Saturday night can be organised.

CERTIFICATION

The course is registered by yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance and is taught by: Anneriek Favelle, Level 3 Senior Registered Teacher with Yoga Australia, E-RYT200 and RYT500 registered teacher with Yoga Alliance.

PAYMENT TERMS & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • $500 non-refundable deposit is due upon acceptance into the course.

  • Final balance of the upfront $1000 is due 4 weeks before the start of the course.

  • For cancellations prior to course commencement, all fees will be refunded less the $500 non-refundable deposit.

  • For cancellations upon commencement of the course, a cancellation charge of 50% of the remaining fee will be given.

PROGRAM CONTENT

Module 'Back to the Roots’ - Yoga Origin & Philosophy
What is yoga and where does it originate from. Understanding yoga philosophy, like the Vedas, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita. Gain a real understanding on how to integrate yoga philosophy in your life and classes.

 

Module ‘Alignment’ - Applied Anatomy in Yoga 
Practical, applied, anatomy is essential for every yoga teacher. We'll learn terminology, the basic anatomy of our body, anatomical movements. Analysis of anatomy in yoga poses, relating to body alignment, is an essential part of this module.

 

Module 'Going Beyond' - Pose Alignment and Teaching Advanced Poses  

In this module we're going over the basic pose alignment (as taught to you in Level 1) and we progress in learning to teach more advanced poses. It's always challenging to practice and teach the more advanced poses, for example handstand, dancers pose, or leg behind your head poses, especially if you can not do some of these poses yourself.... We'll be looking at when to teach these poses and how to teach them safely. 

Module ‘The Subtle Yoga Body’ - Integration of Body, Mind & Spirit
The practice of yoga reveals that the body is in no way separate from the mind. In this module we provide a way to understand these forces as they relate to an integrated yoga of body and mind. We'll study the subtle body to integrate this in our classes.

Module ‘The Art of Inspired Sequencing’ - Creating the Best Classes Possible

Whether a class is flowing or slow, a good class is a well sequenced class. We'll be going over the more advanced guidelines that you can use to sequence poses together and how to plan and structure a class. This includes creating integrated flow sequences. This module includes a lot of practical application.

Module ‘Creative Namaskars’ - Create salutations that set your class up for success

The salutations at the start of each class sets the tone for the class and sets the students up for a safe and embodied class. Learn how to create creative namaskars and receive sample namaskars to create these beautiful moving meditative flows for your own classes.

Module 'Yoga Beyond Asanas’ - Mindfulness, Meditation and Pranayama

Yoga practice has so much more to offer when we look past the benefits of practicing poses. We’ll be having a look at mindfulness, meditation and pranayama. Focus will be on gaining a deeper understanding of these practices  and on how you can incorporate these in both your life and in your classes.

Module ‘Connection’ - Mastery of your Assists 

Learning how to adjust people takes a lot of practice and skill. We’ll explore the various types of adjustments and the various reasons to adjust. We will look at student assessments and the quality of touch. We will practice adjustments of many poses and get a deeper understanding of how to adjust different types of students. Additionally, we will have a look at the various types of props and how to best use them.

Module ‘Modifications’ - Teaching Special Groups, Special Conditions and Injuries

We'll be looking into teaching special groups (eg prenatal, kids, seniors) and students with special conditions (like low/high blood pressure, asthma, arthritis, trauma, depression) and injuries. We’ll discuss strategies on how to teach people  safely. For this we’ll be looking at modifications to the yoga practices.

Module ‘Awakening’ - Awakening of the Authentic Teacher
Let's have a good, honest look at ourselves.... What is your ‘super power’? What are your qualities as a teacher? We’ll be aiming to find our authentic self and you’ll be looking at how you can set yourself up for success as a teacher and create a more awakened life for yourself. In this module you'll also be looking at how you can take yoga ‘off the mat’ and into the daily life. 

Module 'Yoga as a Profession' - Running your Yoga Business 

Guidance on how to increase your class size, run workshops and/or set up and run your own yoga business; including your competitive edge, market analysis, marketing and promotion, portfolio development, and tips and tricks on how to increase your class size and run workshops and retreats.

  • Yoga practices (asana, pranayama or meditation),

  • Designing and Planning your class,

  • Practice teaching,

Studying to be a yoga teacher with Anneriek surprised me in ways I was not expecting. The talks and insights helped me grow, my personal practice has deepened and I learned that preparation is key to good teaching and sequencing.
