The Level 1 training is a 200 hr, 8 month program, for anyone who wants to either increase their knowledge about yoga or would like to become a yoga teacher.

The Level 1 Yoga Teacher Trainer Program creates a path to becoming a yoga teacher in a more gradual and traditional manner. It involves one-on-one tuition, practical training and study assignments, finding your own path to becoming the best teacher you can be. If you aim to have a deeper personal experience and/or have thought about becoming a yoga teacher in a way that is more gradual and thorough than a typical Western TT model, this program might suit you very well.

20 FACE TO FACE TRAINING DAYS THAT WILL EITHER BE:

- Overnight Stay (meals and accomodation included)

- Full Day (9AM - 5PM)

100% ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR CERTIFICATION

VIEW PROGRAM CONTENT 

Your commitment:

  • 20 days face to face, group learning for theory. 

  • Practical assignments to complete.

  • Twice a month shared practice (face to face or through Zoom) in which you will also learn to assist and teach

  • Regularly attending one of Anneriek’s classes (online or in class)

  • During last few months: 

    • Assisting in Anneriek’s classes 

    • Teaching classes (possibly by donation or private sessions)

Prerequisites:

  • Regular yoga practice

  • A willingness to explore the depths of yoga

What you’ll receive:

  • 200 hr certification - registered by both Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance

  • Personal guidance and practical learning opportunities

  • Comprehensive Level 1 manuals and notebooks

  • Yin Yoga teacher certification is included

Attendance Policy

  • 100% attendance is required for certificate to be awarded.

  • Students who miss any of the contact hours may request private tuition at their own cost to make up any missed sessions (costs are $80 hour) or they can sit the missed hours on the next course day for the module.

  • This course is competency-based, which means there is no pass or fail.

  • Completion of the course needs to be within 2 years of attending the 1st module.

Continued Leaning (350hr)

  • Students who would like to continue their learning to complete their 350hr training can do this by enrolling in the Level 2 Apprenticeship.

All face to face learning takes place at our beautiful studio in Cattai, NSW. 15 minutes out of Windsor, 50 min out of Sydney CBD. Shared accomodation for Saturday night can be organised.

- Full Day: 30 & 31 October (Yin TT)

- Full Day: 13 & 14 November (Yin TT)

- Overnight Stay: 10 - 13 February

- Full Day: 12 & 13 March

- Closure & Exam: 27th March 2022

CERTIFICATION

The course is registered by yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance and is taught by: Anneriek Favelle, Level 3 Senior Registered Teacher with Yoga Australia, E-RYT200 and RYT500 registered teacher with Yoga Alliance. 

Numbers for this course are very limited to warrant personal guidance.

PAYMENT TERMS & CANCELLATION POLICY

  • $500 non-refundable deposit is due upon acceptance into the course.

  • Final balance of the upfront $1000 is due 4 weeks before the start of the course.

  • For cancellations prior to course commencement, all fees will be refunded less the $500 non-refundable deposit.

  • For cancellations upon commencement of the course, a cancellation charge of 50% of the remaining fee will be given.

PROGRAM CONTENT

Module ‘Yoga Asana’ - Learning about the Benefits, Alignment Principles and Modifications of Yoga Poses
This very extensive module includes everything you need to know about yoga poses: Benefits, Alignment principles, Anatomical principles, Modifications, Adjustments, and more. We’ll be covering over 100 yoga poses and include salutations and warm up sequences . Poses included: Standing, Balancing poses, Core activation, Arm balancing, Backbones, Twists, Seated hip openers, and Inversions. Sample flows are provided as well to give you a flying start teaching your first classes.

 

Module 'Back to the Roots’ - Yoga Origin & Philosophy
What is yoga and where does it originate from. Understanding yoga philosophy, like the Vedas, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Upanishads, and the Bhagavad Gita. Gain an understanding of the background of this practice and the beautiful rich yoga philosophy.

Module ‘Alignment’ - Yoga Anatomy & Pose Alignment 
Practical, applied, anatomy is essential for every yoga teacher. We'll learn terminology, the basic anatomy of our body, and anatomical movements. Analysis of anatomy in yoga poses, relating to body alignment, is an essential part of this module.

 

Module ‘The Subtle Yoga Body’ - Integration of Body, Mind & Spirit
The practice of yoga reveals that the body is in no way separate from the mind. In this module we provide a way to understand these forces as they relate to an integrated yoga of body and mind. We'll study the subtle body to understand this integration.

 

Module ‘Awakening’ - Awakening of the Authentic Teacher
We will have a good look at ourselves. What is your ‘super power’? What are your qualities as a teacher? We’ll be aiming to find our authentic self and you’ll be looking at how you can set yourself up for success and create a more awakened life for yourself. In this module you'll also be looking at how you can take yoga ‘off the mat’ and into your daily life. 

Module 'Yoga Beyond Asanas’ - Pranayama & Meditation
Yoga practice has so much more to offer when we look past the benefits of just practicing poses. We’ll be having a look at pranayama and meditation. Focus will be on gaining a deeper understanding of these practices/aspects, the various types of practices there are and on how you can incorporate these in your life and classes.

Module ‘Connection’ - Mastery of Adjustments 
Learning how to adjust people takes a lot of practice and skill. We’ll explore the various types of adjustments and the various reasons to adjust. We will look at student assessments and the quality of touch. We will practice adjustments of many poses and get a deeper understanding of how to adjust different types of students. Additionally, we will have a look at the various types of props and how to best use them.

 

Module ‘The Art of Inspired Sequencing’ - Creating the Best Classes Possible
Whether a class is flowing or slow, a good class is a well sequenced class. We'll be going over the basic guidelines that you can use to sequence poses together and how to plan and structure a class. We will include a lot of practical application.

 

Module ‘Modifications’ - Teaching Special Groups, Special Conditions and Injuries
We'll be looking into teaching special groups (eg prenatal, kids, seniors) and students with special conditions (like low/high blood pressure, asthma, arthritis, trauma, depression) and injuries. We’ll discuss strategies on how to teach people safely. For this we’ll be looking at modifications to the yoga practices.

Module  Yin Yoga - The Practice of  Mindfulness
You’ll be introduced to teaching Yin Yoga, which is based on the Taoist concept of yin and yang, opposite and complementary principles in nature. Yin is the stable, unmoving, hidden aspect of things; yang is the changing, moving, revealing aspect. Subjects included are meridians, yin (myofascial) tissue, over 50 yin yoga poses and 12 sample sequences to get you started for your own yin practice or as a yin teacher.


Practical experience included:

  • Yoga practices (asana, pranayama or meditation),

  • Designing and Planning your class,

  • Practice teaching,

  • Observing and assisting

Anneriek’s teacher training program is a perfect balance between being comprehensive and easily digestible. We covered so many different modules from the basics such as history and philosophy to anatomy and application. More importantly, Anneriek cares about you. That’s why she had a whole module about becoming an authentic yoga teacher which invited us students to look inward and not only find our own voice, but proudly own it.
